Root Canal

A close up of a tooth with a drill in it

Root canal therapy is a dental procedure that can save a tooth from extraction when the pulp inside it becomes infected or dies due to severe decay, injury, or previous dental procedures. Our in-house endodontic treatment provides patients with the option of preserving their natural teeth.

What is the procedure like?

In an endodontic procedure, the patient will first receive a local anaesthetic to numb the area. Then, an opening in the tooth will be created to access the root or nerve.

The infected or dead pulp is removed, and the root canal is thoroughly cleaned to prevent any recurrence of infection.

Finally, the treated tooth is protected with a cap or dental crown for an aesthetic outcome or a composite resin material. With proper care and daily cleaning, root canal-treated teeth can last a lifetime.
